Dream come true!~

Yes, this post is all about my visit to Anfield, the home of Liverpool FC. Sorry if you are not a football fan =p

After 2 hours of train from Sheffield to Liverpool and some 1 hour of walking from my friend’s hostel, i made my way to the stadium that i’ve seen so many times on the TV. We got there a little early as we were afraid that we might be late due to the distance but we reached some 20 minutes before the tour begin. We started off by taking some pictures around the stadium and of cos the famous Bill Shankly Statue.

We then proceed to the store and when i was checking out the gloves i accidentally left my guide book (cost me 4 pounds!!)on the display table and went off for the tour. When i went out from the store for like 5 minutes i realized i forgotten something, my guide!!!I walked back in hoping this won’t runied my whole day and to my dissapointment it wasn’t there anymore. I don’t know if my prayer works or what i asked the staff there and apparently someone handed it to the staff and they were nice enough to give it back to me. phewwww….

Right so they started briefing us a little before leading us into the stadium. We were brought to the dressing room and they told us abit of details on what will be going on during match day and bla bla bla before letting us taking photos with the jerseys hanging on the walls. Yup of course not forgetting the “This is Anfield” sign on the way out the pitch(i was struggling to touch it >.<)

When we were walking out to the stadium they were playing some recorded sound from fans from the speakers. We then sat on the manager dug out area and sub bench to listen to a short introduction of the stadium. I took pic of The Kop while the introduction was going on

We then were given 5 minutes to take pictures and son after that we were seated at the kop for more history about The Kop. More pictures…

The session ends after an hour without us realizing how fast an hour past, we then continue the journey with the muzeum.

Bill Shankly : “Liverpool was made for me and I was made for Liverpool”

I’m not so sure about Liverpool was made for me but certainly i am made for Liverpool =p

The 4 european cups won back in the 70’s and 80’s

And of course the most recent real trophy won in 2005, one of the most incredible final ever. Notice all the 5 in this event? =D (yup, as far as i know they gv out replicas for the winner to keep, only Real Madrid, AC Milan, Ajax, Bayern Munich and Liverpool has the real ones to keep for various reasons. A club can keep the real trophy by either winning 5 times or 3 consecutive years)

Yeah, i was there too holding the trophy

CARRA!!!I’ll have his name on for my next jersey =D

Last but not the least, to the 96 who lost their life 20 years ago. RIP and YNWA.

Special thanks to Kok wah for letting me staying at his place, Allen and friends for the guide in both Liverpool City and as well as the way to Anfield. It wasn’t all easy getting there but it’s all worth it cos i’ve made one of my wish since i was a child come true. Anfield ROXXXXX!!!!

YNWA

我要做坏人!!

Initially i wanted to post this in mandarin but my typing is so slow >.<

Anyway i should be happy cos i’ve booked ticket for the Anfield stadium and Liverpool Football Club muzeum tour for this coming saturday. I’ve being a LFC supporter for 11 years now and this can be considered as one of my wish come true after many years. Of course i would like to watch a match but it’s off season now so a tour would be sufficient for now.

I have a housemate who is a LFC supporter as well so i booked the tour ticket for both of us. This morning when we were on our way to the train station i told him the train ticket would cost £28 and i knew from that moment he would not go with me. I know it’s alot but i already told him it will cost around there yesterday yet he told he to book the tour ticket for him as well. (the tour ticket requires CC booking thus i book it for him as well.)

I have nothing to say cos i told him i have another friend who is also TARCian at UK currently who is interested but do not have a tour ticket. This guy talked to me last night in MSN and gosh he made me felt kinda guilty when he said he can’t afford to watch a match so he really wish to join me for the tour. Seriously i felt so guilty the whole night for not helping him booking another tour ticket. Guess what when i told him i have an extra ticket today, yes he told me he can’t make it. Imagine if i book another ticket yesterday, i would have 3 tickets in my hand.

Fabulous, now i have 2 tour ticket with me and i’m going in alone. No more mr nice guys after this no matter how guilty i feel anymore. I’m tired to be taken advantage of and i hate it. Why don’t you guys let me take advantage of?Why must it always be me?

With a ticket that cost £6.50, i teached myself a lesson. Be farking selfish and care only for myself.

Life in Sheffield

How’s life in Sheffield? That’s what most people will ask me these few days.

Well i have to say i love it here, the cold environment, the friendly people, the beautiful city and after few days of classes i have to say i love the way they teach as well. It’s just so different than what i’ve experience in Malaysia for past few years where they really want you to understand what they teached. I often got lost when we have lab session back in Malaysia but over here, they’ll go step by step and make sure everyone is following and not miss out anything.

Only thing i find troublesome so far is the weather, well it seems to be a little unpredictable. I’m here for 7 days now but it has being raining for 5 days. The rain here is different from Malaysia where you can wait for the rain to stop after awhile but it can keep going on non stop for the whole day. Worse case was yesterday when we went to shop for groceries after class, it started pouring when we were shopping around and eventually we spent some 2 hours waiting for the rain to go off. After 2 hours the rain got noticeably smaller and at the moment we try to step out from the store, the whole parking area in front was flooded!!we try to walk a big round back to the main street but there’s a bigger surprise for us, part of the street were flooded too causing masive traffic jam. With no choice we just moved along in the rain with wet pants, socks and shoes.

Interestingly while i was in front of the store wondering how to get home a local guy actually apologize to me about the weather here. It’s just so much difference compare to Malaysia where we wouldn’t even speak to anyone especially tourist.

Another thing i don’t really like here is of cos the food. Well i’m so used to mum’s home cook food and occasionally i feel frustrated when i have to think what to buy when mum is not cooking. Now i relized what a silly mindset i used to have because in here a simple meal outside will cost 2-3pounds easily. Imagine if i eat out for 2 meals so now we started going to buy cheap groceries, making lunchbox and dinner everyday. gish i miss Malaysia so much now!~How i wish i can have the cold wind weather from UK + friendly people from UK + food from malaysia!!

Cooking

Another thing i hate here is cooking, well the price of eating out is kinda expensive so we decided to cook for ourself everyday. There’s a market named Nitto about 10 minutes away from our place so it’s not that bad. Seems the be the cheapest place to buy stuff around here.

On the 1st day, after unpacking and etc it was quite late already so we went for KFC for late lunch and went over to Nitto to shop for ingredient for dinner. Pictures of dinner.

Sheffield, UK

wooot i’m finally here in Sheffield after some 15 hours of flight.

i reached KLIA at 630pm and the queue to check in was so long that i’m only able to check in after some 1 hour. Upon checking in there isn’t much time so after we gather up we head in to the terminal. Before leaving i hugged my parents and my sister (i think it’s the 1st time i hug everyone from my family). Well sorry to dissapoint those of you who predicted that i’ll cry, i didn’t. Seriously i didn’t realized how much i will miss my life until i was on the plane realizing that there’s so much that i can’t do anymore for the next 1 year or so.

A picture before departure, an ang mou was looking and laughing at us when we did this in the train bringing us to terminal

IMG_0036

the flight from Malaysia to Abu Dhabi was kinda unpleasant as it went thru several spot of turbulence and i did not get any sleep due to the noise (plane + babies are horrible to ears!). Reach Abu Dhabi around 4am and straight away we went to wait for our next flight to Manchester. I was really tired at that point so basically i force myself to sleep right after the plane take off. Basically for the first 4 hours i was awaken and sleep on numerous occasion, it is really that hard to sleep on plane.

Once we reached Manchester we were greeted by the super cold air (whoever that told me the weather is like Genting, it’s purely BS!!Genting is nothing compare to here =p). We were then have to go thru the fierce immigresen officers, some of us got thru easily but some were asked alot of questions.

Upon exiting the airport we can see the university representitives waiting for our arrival. We got on to the bus but had to wait for another 1 hour as one of the guy was held back by immigresen and the whole group of friends actually wait for him thus the delay. Anyway 1 hour later the bus started, some pictures i took on the bus

Great Scenery, i’m sure u DSLR-er would love it here cos there’s more along the road to Sheffield.

Next, my room. Well i have to say i was prepared for worse but heck this is not Malaysia. The hostel is clean and i can’t tell you how much i love it.

My toilet

Yes, we have our personal toilet here attached to each of our room here, how nice =D

The only thing i don’t like it is the kitchen, there’s one weird smell when we left it unuse for sometime.

That’s all for this post, next up is food.
